O'Neill and Teen Vogue's 2010 Generation Next Program is Underway

O'Neill and Teen Vogue are teaming up once again to mentor one lucky fashion-minded student in their third annual Generation Next program. Last year, Angela Urmanita from Rowland Heights won the competition with her fashion-forward outfit, and now it's time to make room for a new crop of talent.

Earlier this year, hundreds of sophomores and juniors from southern California applied to be one of the five finalists in the exciting 6-month program. The students were then paired with a mentor to create original designs for a dress or romper and an accessory that will eventually be a part of the O'Neill collection.

On October 9, the finalists will debut their designs on the runway of the Generation Next fashion show at Avalon Hollywood. Fans will get to vote for their favorite look and select a winner to receive a $5,000 scholarship, a new O'Neill wardrobe and an internship with the SoCal lifestyle brand. The most exciting part? The winning design could potentially be available for sale at a national retailer with O'Neill's Spring 2011 collection!
In the upcoming weeks, JSYK will be bringing you exclusive interviews and exclusive pics of the inspiration boards for each of the five finalists and tracking their progress all the way up until the fashion show. Then you'll be able to match up the designers with their inspiration boards on the left. Stay tuned for the scoop on each budding fashion star!
