Have you read any of the books in the 'Gone' series? Well, Michael Grant, the same bestselling author who wrote those titles is ready to unveil the first novel in his next collection of books called 'The Magnificent 12: The Call.'
But before you draw comparisons to Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, we should tell you this: these magical books are infused with plenty of laugh-out-loud humor, which set them apart from the rest.
The story follows Mack, a seemingly average 12-year-old who is visited by a three-thousand-year-old man named Grimluk. He appears in the boys' bathroom to deliver the news that Mack is actually part of the Magnificent Twelve clan.
An evil force is on its way (naturally), and Mack has to find the eleven other guys who are a part of the Magnifica in order to stop it. Mack ends up traveling around the world, which brings on plenty of obstacles. He has to battle the wicked Pale Queen's dangerous daughter, Ereskigal, aka Risky, but it seems pretty dangerous and Mack isn't sure he even wants to be a hero.
We're super excited for this series, especially because they're told with a hint of humor. Michael proves you can have an action-packed plot, while still making the reader laugh. 'The Magnificent 12: The Call' is now available at booksellers nationwide. Want to study up on all the different characters and creatures from the series?
