The Lowdown On The 2010 Emmy Awards

Glee was a bit of a loser (hold right hand in 'L' shape over forehead here) at last night's Emmy Awards. Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Matthew Morrison lost out in their categories and the show lost to Modern Family in the Best Comedy Series category.

Ryan Murphy and Jane Lynch picked up individual awards though - Ryans for directing and Sue Sylvester for supporting actress.

In his acceptance speech, Ryan made sure to thank his cast and also dedicated his win to his teachers since Glee is a show "about arts education."

Hold on a second. We're skipping over an important part of the night's events. The show opened with a musical number sketch about Jimmy Fallon putting together a glee club with Chris, Amber Riley, Cory Monteith and... Nina Dobrev!

That's right, the Vampire Diaries star became an honorary Glee club member for the night and she did a pretty good job too. Anyone else surprised to see her there?
"Off the stage-in my seat," she tweeted right after the number. Phew! Didn't fall! Ha! So much fun to Sing+Dance w/ such a incredible group of people!"
