Fans could watch this year's MTV Video Music Awards on MTV last night, but they just as easily could have gone on Twitter for all the latest and breaking. Justin Bieber seemed a bit jittery about what the night would hold, particularly if he'd win for Best New Artist. Good thing bumping into one of his favorite artists pumped him up.

Biebs tweeted, "Ran into @eminem in the hallway!!! I love this day! Still a kid...still a fan."

Later he used his Twitter page to express how overjoyed he was to take home his first Moon Man trophy: "I know I'm forgetting all kinds of people. My mind is just spinning. Couldn't even think. Can't stop smiling! I love everybody! haha."
Even though Hayley Williams didn't score for her "Airplanes" collaboration with B.o.B., she reassured her Twitter followers, "To all the fans that voted for us, thank you so much... Even though we didn't win, our time will be when we're performing. So we still win!!"

Hayley nailed that performance, and Miranda Cosgrove completely agrees with us.

"So many great performances tonight," the iCarly star tweeted. "I loved B.O.B and Drake!"

The night was extra special for Chris Colfer, who got to present Lady Gaga with one of her eight wins.

"VMAs! Just gave @ladygaga an award! It really happened! It's documented! And I didn't embarrass myself this time! Woot-woot," he tweeted. Do you think they discussed New Directions' take on Lady Gaga's most famous costumes?

Even if they didn't walk the VMA white carpet last night, many celebs watched the action from home. Nicole Anderson tweeted that she was doing "dinner night and VMAs with the 'roomies'."

Ashley Benson loved Chelsea Handler's hosting job, and the Pretty Little Liars star tweeted, "Hahaha wow chelsea handler is hilarious."

Meanwhile, Ash's co-star Lucy Hale joined Chris Colfer in his awe of Lady Gaga. We're not sure if she was fascinated with the Video of the Year winner's record-breaking 13 VMA nominations, constant elaborate costume changes, or a mix of both, but she tweeted, "Oh lady gaga you are such a goddess."

One person not watching the VMAs? Megan Park, who was busy using Twitter to promote her TV movie airing at the same time.

"Don't watch the VMA's tonight! Watch The Perfect Teacher! It's just....better," the Secret Life of the American Teenager actress tweeted.
