Do You Really Want To Smell Like Lady Gaga? Do You??
After celebrating her eight wins at the 2010 Video Music Awards, Lady Gaga has signed a deal with Coty Inc, the world's largest fragrance company, to develop perfumes under her name. Keep in mind, she also wore a dress made out of meat during part of last night's awards and also appeared on Ellen today in the same ensemble.
According to WWD, the deal was inked last week, and the first Lady Gaga scent for women is expected to hit shelves in spring 2012. Coty describes the VMA winner as a "phenomenon" and "a fascinating cultural force" who has the potential to rock the perfume world.
The international superstar joins a long list of A-listers who have created successful signature scents, including Britney Spears and Beyonce (Madonna may also be releasing her own perfume soon), but there's one star who's wholly against celeb-backed lines.
"[It's] gotten so ridiculous," Emma Watson said in an interview with WWD last year. "The idea of making my own perfume makes me want to vomit."
Well, Emma may not wear her own perfume, but perhaps she'll give Gaga's a chance. The question is, will you? We have no idea what the singer's magic mix will smell like, but the perfume's packaging and ad campaign will likely be as unforgettable as the pop star is. Are you open to sampling a spritz of Gaga's scent or are you as over celeb perfumes as Emma is? %Poll-52696%
