Last night Taylor Swift threw the first punch in Taylor vs. Kanye West: Round 2.

The "Mine" singer treated the crowd at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards to a surprise performance of an untitled song that she wrote earlier this year. But that wasn't the shocker that has everyone buzzing. Before Taylor sang her first line, the audience saw a clip from last year's VMAs of Kanye snatching the microphone from Taylor during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video, and we all know the "Beyonce-deserves-this-award" rant that ensued.
Once Taylor began playing her guitar and singing barefoot, it became clear this tune was Taylor's swing back at Kanye, even though he's apologized to her over Twitter. The lyrics include, "32 and still growing up now, who you are is not what you did, you're still an innocent." The formerly most hated man in America (even President Obama had strong words for Kanye about his actions) was 32 when Taylor wrote the song, but the performance didn't get quite the warm reception Taylor hoped.

People are slamming her for not getting over the incident, or at the very least, making fun of it. To top it off, Kanye's debut performance of "Runaway" was the show closure and ended with "Kanye! Kanye!" cheers.

Is Taylor's time as America's sweetheart country singer so over? Or was she rightfully taking a jab back at Kanye without being overtly nasty? Check out the video of Taylor's performance if you haven't seen it yet and read the song's lyrics to judge for yourself.

'Still An Innocent' Lyrics
I guess you really did it this time
Left yourself in your war path
Lost your balance on a tightrope
Lost your mind trying to get it back

Wasn't it easier in your lunch box days?
Always a bigger bed to crawl into
Wasn't it beautiful when you believed in everything
And everybody believed in you?

It's all right, just wait and see
Your streaming lights are still bright to me oh
Who you are is not what you've been
You're still an innocent
You're still an innocent

There's some things you can't speak of
But tonight you'll leave it all again
You wouldn't be shattered on the floor now
If only you would sing only what you know ...

Wasn't it easy you're in your firefly-catching days
And everything out of reach, someone bigger brought down to you
Wasn't it beautiful running wild till you fell asleep
Before the monsters caught up to you?

It's all right, just wait and see
Your streaming lights are still bright to me oh
Who you are is not who you've been
You're still an innocent
It's OK, life is a tough crowd 32 and still growing up now
Who you are is not what you did
You're still an innocent

Time turns flames to embers
You'll have new Septembers
Every one of us has messed up, too
Mind change like the weather
I hope you remember today is never too late
To be brave (ohh)

It's all right, just wait and see
Your streaming lights are bright to me oh
Who you are is not where you've been
You're still an innocent
It's OK, life is a tough crowd 32 and still growing up now
Who you are is not what you did
You're still an innocent
Lost your balance on a tightrope
It's never too late to get it back
