Kentucky Teen Creates Anti-Bully Site After Being Teased
"You just get stronger. That's the only thing you can do is get stronger. You can't get weaker when you're at rock bottom," Adama Kamara explains about her experience with bullying.
This 15-year-old Kentucky high school student used her babysitting money to create YourBullyStory.com. Adama was teased and harassed for years, and now wants to help others and prevent teen suicides caused by bullying.
"My whole body would ache. It was just not good and it just kept getting worse. It got really bad, I mean, (I was) going to the stalls in the bathroom and just bawling my eyes out," Adama says.
"When I look back on it sometimes, I think I should have controlled that situation and not let other people control my feelings and everything like that. That's when you realize, after you've been bullied tremendously, that you have to control how you feel and be in control of yourself."
Adam continues, "Just having the awareness, that it does happen and someone like me is talking about it, that's good. It makes me feel good."
Have you ever been bullied in school? How did you handle the situation? Do you have advice for other teens who are now being teased?
