Remember when we told you about that new movie It's Kind of a Funny Story? Well, here's your chance to have your own "funny story" to tell. Keir Gilchrist, the star of the upcoming comedy, will be making a very special visit to one lucky high school -- that is, if you show enough school spirit.
Focus Features and Eventful have launched a program called 'Demand It!' in which students can go online to vote for their high school to score a one of five visits from Ned Vizzini, the author of the book the movie is based upon. The school with the most number of votes overall will also get to hang out with Keir.
The 18-year-old actor will only be going to one school, so you've got to make your votes count. Log onto Eventful.com/itskindofafunnystory and cast your vote by October 17. Spread the word by sharing your actions over Facebook, Twitter and MySpace and inviting friends to "demand" that your school win. Voting is open to students, parents, alumni and academic staff, so shout it from the mountaintops!
In addition to a sweet assembly with Keir and Ned, the top-voted school will also win copies of the book for everyone who attends the appearance. Pretty cool, right? Check out the trailer for the film below and get more info on the contest at Eventful.com. It's Kind of a Funny Story opens in theaters on Friday, October 8.
