Last night, the rescue mission began to bring 33 trapped miners in Chile to the surface.

Using a narrow capsule, rescuers saved Florencio Ávalos, 31, first. For weeks, no one knew if the workers had survived the mine's collapse, so it was a beyond emotional moment when Florencio was finally reunited with his crying young son after 69 days.

"Lost it when the little boy saw his father," Jordin Sparks tweeted. "So happy these men are finally getting out of that Chilean mine. One Step at a time... :)"
Justin Bieber also heard the good news and tweeted, "Just found out the miners of chile are being rescued!!! happy for the families being brought back together. miracles do happen."

Were you watching the mission on TV?

Victoria Justice

So happy for their families though, that's amazing. It's so awesome when people work together and save so many lives. Go team!!"

Chelsea Staub expressed a similar reaction.

"The first miner in Chile rises from the dark! Thanks to the amazing rescuers who have worked non-stop to rekindle the light in these lives," the Jonas star tweeted.
