Taylor Swift was rumored to have hooked up with notorious heartbreaker John Mayer last year, but she never publicly discussed the relationship. Until now?

Taylor's new song "Dear John" includes the lyrics "Dear John / I see it all now that you're gone/ Don't you think I was too young / To be messed with / The girl in the dress / Cried the whole way home / I should've known."

Too young? John Mayer is now 33 and Taylor is 20. The girl in the dress? The two were touring together during the time of their supposed hookup, and Taylor's on-stage style staple is a sparkly dress. She hasn't officially said that the song's about Mayer, but all signs point to go.
Unlike the song Taylor supposedly wrote about Taylor Lautner, she's clearly over this guy and wants nothing to do with him again. Listen to her jab back: "My mother accused me of losing my mind/ But I swore I was fine/ You'll add my name to your long list of traitors/ Who don't/ understand/ And I'll look back in regret/ I ignored what they said 'Run as fast as you can."

Do you think airing her relationship dirty laundry out like this is a good idea? Yes, it makes for good music, but is she hurting her chances of meeting a really nice guy? Worrying about the details of your relationship being played on iTunes would be a major concern for anybody. Should Taylor stop making her music so seemingly obvious?
