Justin Bieber is set to perform at the American Music Awards, yet he's Canadian. Some people may think this is totally weird and contradictory, but it's really not. Here's why...

Although the AMAs are generally geared toward musicians that originate from the U.S., the awards show has been known to celebrate international artists because of their popularity in The States. We don't have to tell you how beloved Justin is in America, so it's really not so crazy for him to be nominated and performing at the show.
This year, JB is joined by other international stars like Rihanna and Coldplay, so he's not alone. Plus, with four nominations under his belt (just one less than top nominees Eminem and Lady Gaga), Bieber is who the fans want to see.

What do you think? Are you cool with Justin performing at the AMAs or do you think the award show should only honor American artists? The winners are determined by fan voting, so we'll see just how much people care about his nationality then. The American Music Awards will air live on Sunday, November 21 on ABC at 8 p.m. ET. %Poll-54627%
