Why Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad Should Team Up Again

It looks like Whitney Port is headed out of The City. The 25-year-old designer recently phoned into Ryan Seacrest's radio show to announce that her MTV series has come to an end, but with her pal Lauren Conrad shooting a brand new show of her own, we smell an opportunity to get Team LC and Whitney back together.

"As of right now it doesn't really look like we're doing it anymore," Whit said regarding the TV show, which followed the fashionista from Los Angeles to New York. "But it's okay -- one door closes and another opens."

Could Lauren be the one to open that door? Back in The Hills days, we loved watching the two friends hard at work at their Teen Vogue internship, and now that the girls are a little older and wiser, we think they should reunite for the small screen. Here's why:

1. They work well together.
Lauren and Whitney shared the same space at Teen Vogue's L.A. offices and always had each other's back during their internship. There were never any issues between the two of them (unlike between Whit and Olivia), and that makes for the best working relationship.
2. There's no competition.
The girls are both designers in their own right and are working on separate clothing lines. Lauren has a brand new collection coming up, and The City star is continuing with her Whitney Eve line. The two friends may have a similar target customer, but their looks are so different that there's room for both in the fashion world.

3. There won't be any boy drama between them. Lauren is in a committed relationship with actor Kyle Howard and Whitney is oh-so-happy with The Buried Life star Ben Nemtin. Although The Hills and The City had their fair share of back-stabbing and guy-stealing, we don't expect any of that on LC's new show, at least not from Lauren's end.

Whitney didn't reveal anything else about the future of The City, but she did say she's keeping busy by "working on some other things." We don't know if Lauren is looking for another cast member for her new series, but we think she should consider sharing office space (and camera time) with her good friend Whit. What do you think? Would you want to see LC and Whitney back together on the same TV show? %Poll-54816%
