Taylor Swift Sells Over 1 Million Copies of 'Speak Now.' Will Bieber Be As Lucky?

Taylor Swift's
new album, 'Speak Now,' made a smashing debut on the Billboard charts, selling over 1 million copies in its first week. Just to give you an idea, only two other artists, 50 Cent and Lil Wayne, have sold over a mil in the last five years. In other words, this is a huge accomplishment.

"I... Can't... Believe... This...," Taylor tweeted on Wednesday. "You guys have absolutely lit up my world. Thank you."

But with Justin Bieber's acoustic album, 'My Worlds,' set to hit stores on November 26, could Beliebers rise up and help the Canadian pop star top T-Swift's impressive debut? We're not so sure.
Millions of fans around the world have backed the 16-year-old singer, but he hasn't sold nearly as many records as the country star. As of today, Taylor's three-album total in the U.S. is nearly 12 million, while Justin's two-album total is only 3.5 million.

This is particularly interesting because Taylor has less followers on Twitter than JB (4.5 million vs. 5.9 million), and less fans on Facebook (12.9 million vs. 14.5 million). But, when you compare the two artists' biggest videos, 'Baby' and its 374 million views blows 'You Belong With Me's' respectable 69 million views out of the water. Then again, Taylor wasn't in an unofficial video face-off with Lady Gaga.

To be fair, Justin has only been releasing music for a little over a year, so it's really hard to compare the two when it comes to album sales. That's why we'll be watching to see what happens when JB's acoustic CD comes out, and even more interested in the first week sales of Justin's next studio record.

What do you think? Is Taylor a bigger star than Justin? Whose music do you prefer? %Poll-55213%
