On Sunday, 17-year-old Tivarus King was shot to death over a Halloween prank. According to the Washington Post, police say that the Atlanta teen allegedly egged a man's Mercedes, and in a fit of rage the driver shot him in the neck and leg as he tried to run away.
Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones says 10 shots were fired, and the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office confirms that Tivarus died on the way to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The driver was arrested, but on traffic charges that were unrelated to the fatal shooting, says Atlanta Police spokesman Curtis Davenport. Police are still investigating whether the teen threw the eggs in the first place. So tragic.
It's pretty shocking to hear about someone dying over a prank that so many people pull on Halloween night. It kind of makes you think twice about practical jokes -- remember the New Jersey student who pulled that gross soda prank? He was only sentenced an essay. This Atlanta teen lost his life.
