Exclusive: A Day to Remember Opens Up About Their New Song 'Better Off This Way'
A Day to Remember has just released their fourth studio album, 'What Separates Me From You,' and while their fans have grown to love their aggressive post-hardcore sound, the rockers have unveiled 'Better Off This Way,' a song that shows off their softer, more melodic side.
The Florida natives kick off the track with a strong intro, but their addictive chorus will have new and old fans hooked instantly. "This song was inspired by people I've met along my path that are just bad people," lead singer Jeremy McKinnon tells JSYK exclusively. "Some people just suck."
Of course, you'll still hear Jeremy's screamy vocals, but he's truly excited to show people A Day to Remember's gentler side. "This is actually one of my favorite songs on the record," he admits. "I can't wait to start playing it live!"
A Day to Remember has over one million Facebook fans, and has been making music since 2003. Their new album was produced by New Found Glory's Chad Gilbert, who also produced the band's chart-topping album, 'Homesick.'
So, will fans get a 'Better Off This Way' video? "More than likely," Jeremy says. "I want to make a ton of videos for a lot of the songs on this record. Kinda like rappers. Works for them."
Listen to 'Better Off This Way' below. 'What Separates Me From You' is in stores and on iTunes now. What do you think of the song? Do you like the more melodic side of ADTR?
