'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' Smashes Franchise's Opening Weekend Record
HP fans, did you see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 this past weekend? A lot of you just said yes.
The movie landed $24 million just for the midnight opening alone. All in all, the flick scored a monster-sized $125.1 million over the weekend, far surpassing the previous Harry Potter opening weekend record held by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with $102.7 million.
Nina Dobrev was clearly a fan and tweeted Monday, "HARRY POTTER!!!!!!"
JSYK reader HeavenlyCaro saw the film this weekend and tweeted to us, "The movie was good, but the end happened so fast. More material is better, and sometimes they don't do the things like in the book."
Another reader commented, "I went to see a midnight opening and it was epic. They did a really good job."
If you saw the movie, was there anything you really loved or totally hated? Tom Felton recently joked about his major criticism of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
"Draco doesn't get any sort of female attention! What's that about? It is a little upsetting," he said. "While the other teenagers are flirting and doing all sorts, Draco seems to be far too busy on some dark, evil mission."
