iTunes Names Angry Birds Its Top App of 2010
The physics-based game shares the upper eschelon with other paid apps like Bejeweled 2, Doodle Jump, Skee-Ball and Fruit Ninja.
Rovio, the maker of Angry Birds, recently announced that it has sold 12 million copies of the beloved app to date, also logging 30 million downloads of its free version. The game is currently available for the iPhone, iPad and Android phones, while the company is looking into bringing it to Windows Phone 7, Facebook, Xbox, Wii and more.
Just in time for the holidays, Rovio released Angry Birds Seasons, a Christmas-themed version of the game. A few months ago, the company released Angry Birds Halloween, which helped in making the game the No. 1 paid iPhone app.
We've written about Angry Birds a couple of times, and our readers were still not too familiar with the popular obsession. In October, 34 percent of you said you've been playing it forever, while 15 percent of you said you had only heard about it through JSYK. Still, 29 percent said they had no idea what it was. Now that it has been named the Top App of 2010, are you thinking about checking it out? %Poll-56807%
