Darren Criss Sings His Answers in Rolling Stone Interview
Darren Criss recently sat down for an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, but instead of speaking his answers to the music mag's questions, he sings them. That's right, the talented Glee star conducted an entire music interview with an acoustic guitar, and it's is oh-so-impressive.
Not only is it hard to think of melodies and notes on the spot, but Darren also had to think about his answers to the questions while he was playing the impromptu guitar chords. You can definitely see the wheels in his mind turning, especially in the second question about Kurt and Blaine's relationship.
"If we're going to approach a really big subject like gay teen youth, you've got to take it in little steps," he says. "So if they're going to have a romantic relationship, I hope it's earned, I hope it's sincere, I hope that we can make it right for the story, and not really be a cheap thrill for people who want to see that stuff."
Darren also says he feels proud about representing the gay community on screen, because he grew up surrounded by it in the San Francisco area. "I think playing Blaine is the coolest thing I could be doing as an actor," he sings.
Although reports say Darren will be a series regular next season, the 23-year-old actor says that, as far as he knows, he's still a guest star. He also talks about Katy Perry's response to his cover of 'Teenage Dream,' and performs an acoustic portion of it at the end of the interview.
