Teen Donates Her Sweet Sixteen Presents to Give Needy Families A Happy Holiday
You've seen the over-the-top, extravagant birthday parties some teens have on MTV's 'My Super Sweet Sixteen.' Instead of stressing about whether or not her parents will surprise her with her dream car, Alexis Harden chose to make the theme of her Sweet Sixteen all about bringing joy to those less fortunate this holiday.
The Tennessee teen gave all her presents to Pushing Outstanding Excellence for Kids. About 75 guests brought toys and $700 to help 10 families in need have a special holiday.
"Teddy bears, food clothes, games, puzzles, books," Alexis says were all donated. What inspired the teen to be so generous on her special day?
"People less fortunate than me are going to have an opportunity to have gifts and maybe wake up and have something under the Christmas tree," Alexis explains. "That's something I don't have to worry about, because for me, I'll always have something under the tree."
Alexis, you're a true role model! Kudos from JSYK. Do you know anyone making the holidays extra special for others this year?
