Teen Scares Off Home Burglars with Samurai Sword
A North Carolina teen's quick thinking -- and the samurai sword he purchased last May at an anime convention -- saved his home from being ransacked by three teenage burglars.
Nineteen-year-old Jesse Endsley says he was at home sleeping when a knock at his front door woke him up. He looked outside and saw 19-year-old Jarod Pearson, 17-year-old Keith Byers, and 16-year-old Christopher Henry talking on his front lawn and then start walking toward the back of his house. That's when Jesse grabbed his sword, realizing the trio were up to trouble.
When Jesse confronted the three would-be robbers, they ran away but he continued to chase after them with his sword in hand.
"I didn't know if they had anything on them," Jesse says. "I just knew that I had this, and if they had stopped or turned around, I was swinging at the first person that looked at me."
The three boys were later arrested by police and charged with attempted breaking and entering and conspiracy.%Poll-57588%
