It's almost time to ring in the New Year, and we found a few fun and free apps to help you celebrate right. Last year, we told you about some pretty cool applications, but now we have three more to add to the bunch.
First, there's the official Times Square Ball app, which lets you get in on all the action of New Year's Eve from your Apple or Android phone. We love this tool because you can access a Livestream video of the event, complete with this year's musical performances and celeb appearances, live from New York City.
Besides the handy countdown clock, you can also tap into fun facts about the event, get weather updates, news and more. But the photo functions on the app are where its at. You can put yourself on the big screen in Times Square and send special customizable holiday postcards to your friends.
The night wouldn't be complete without fireworks, but big displays don't happen in every town, which is why Fubii's app is perfect for celebrating no matter where you are. Once you download and open the app, it may look like it's not working, but the black screen is like a blank canvas. Just tap away and make your own spectacular fireworks show. It's a simple app, but a fun one to break out for the night.
Finally, if you need help organzing your resolutions, the New Year Resolutions - 2011 app has you covered. This helpful tool allows you to make your own to-do list, complete with a notes section for you to write out how you plan on meeting your goal. You can also eventually mark your resolutions as "accomplished," and even set reminders for yourself. Awesome, right?
