A woman in Wilmette, Ill. got a rude awakening when a drunk teen climbed into her bed on Saturday morning. According to WGN-TV, the teenager reeked of alcohol and awoke the woman by saying, "Move over, move over."
At first, the woman thought it was her husband, who had been sleeping in another room because he was sick. She quickly realized it wasn't him and told the trespasser to leave.
According to the police, the woman said the teen was startled and said, "Oh my God," before quickly leaving the house. Officials said the intruder entered the home through an unlocked patio door, and found footprints in the snow leading up to it, but have not been able to track down the teen.
This story may be amusing to some, but underage drinking is no joke. Drinking too much alcohol can impair your judgment and cause erratic behavior. Beyond slurred speech and loss of muscle coordination, your eyes may not be able to focus properly and it's easy to become disoriented.
The legal drinking age in the U.S. is 21, but according to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, nearly 80 percent of high school students have tried alcohol. For more information about the effects of drinking, visit KidsHealth.org.
