Plans For the Weekend Yet? Throw A Spa-Themed Slumber Party
Wanna do something new this Friday night? We have an idea -- call a few of your besties and invite them over for a chic slumber party with a spa theme. Sounding pricey? Not at all. You can give each other facials made from ingredients that are probably in your kitchen right now.
"Sugar is a great natural and easy exfoliant for normal skin," celebrity beauty and grooming expert Jaira Lima says.
Here's how to make your mask: Take a teaspoon of sugar and a teaspoon of honey, mix them together in a cup, and apply to your face. You can also replace the honey with plain warm water. If you have dry or oily skin, mix one spoonful of cornmeal and one spoonful of honey instead.
Start by taking a warm wet towel and press it on your face for a couple minutes -- that will open your pores. Then apply your mask using soft strokes and avoiding your eyes. If you have a cucumber in your fridge, you can slice it up to cover your eyes. Let it sit for approximately 10 minutes then rinse with water. Voila!
You can do this once a week to get rid of dead skin cells, Jaira says, but keep in mind that you should apply your facials immediately after making the recipes. No storing them in the fridge!
