Released this past August, 'Halo' tells the story of a girl named Bethany, an angel sent to earth to to protect the world against growing darkness. The only teen among her other angel friends, Bethany must attend high school and try to blend in, making Bethany a fusion of Edward (not who she seems to be) and Bella (the awkward new girl).
Awesome fact about 'Halo': the author, Alexandra Adornetto is only 18 years old. She started writing seriously when she was only 13 years old and even has a previous book trilogy published in Australia, where she's from.
Alexandra is also not afraid to talk about an issue Stephanie Meyer laced throughout the Twilight series: virginity. Alexandra even penned a column on the topic for The Sydney Morning Herald last year.
She says, "Wait for the right moment, the right person and the right situation. Becoming sexually active is not to be entered into lightly. I have seen too many girls damaged by a decision that was not carefully considered. The results are usually confusion, loss of self-esteem and a cynical view of relationships. My problem with casual, random sex is that while it might be physically pleasurable, it cannot possibly be meaningful or allow for personal growth."
