Hailee Steinfeld made her big screen debut in 'True Grit,' and now her amazing performance as Mattie Ross has earned the 14-year-old her first nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards.
This is a huge day for the California native, who is up against Amy Adams ('The Fighter'), Helena Bonham Carter ('The King's Speech'), Melissa Leo ('The Fighter') and Jacki Weaver for ('Animal Kingdom').
Last month, we asked our readers if they thought Hailee has what it takes to be a big star, and over 75 percent of you said yes. Well, it looks like you were right. Hailee has also been nominated for a BAFTA award, Critics' Choice award and Screen Actors Guild award, just to name a few.
In other Oscar news, 'The Social Network' is up for seven categories, including Best Picture; 'Alice in Wonderland' has been nominated for three statues; and 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1' has scored two nods this year, including a nomination for Best Visual Effects.
However, while 'Never Say Never,' Justin Bieber's collaboration with Jaden Smith, was eligible for a Oscar nom, the 16-year-old was sadly not recognized in the Best Original Song category. There's always next year, Bieber!
