A Florida teen's attempt to make his college application stand out left a lot of people wondering how a baby grand piano ended up on a sandbar off Miami's coast.

Even Joe Jonas was puzzled. The singer tweeted, "This would be a rad way to spend an afternoon..." with a link to a news story about the mystery. Many people claimed they were responsible for placing the piano there, but only one has the video to prove it.
The culprit? Sixteen-year-old Nicholas Harrington. The instrument is an old movie prop that was just sitting in his grandmother's garage for years.

On Jan. 2, Nicholas' older brother and two neighbors helped put the piano on the family's boat and left it in Florida's Biscayne Bay. Nicholas said he wanted to leave his mark on Miami...and he was hoping the adventure would make his application to Manhattan's Cooper Union college stand out.

"I don't like it be considered as a prank," the high school junior said. "It's more of a movement."

Should Nicholas get in trouble for leaving the piano on a sandbar, or was this a genius way to get accepted to your first-choice college?%Poll-59373%
