Teen Who Was Mistaken for Purse Thief Gets Run Over by Victim

A case of mistaken identity ended with a Connecticut teen breaking his leg. A 23-year-old woman was walking to her boyfriend's home on January 27 when someone approached her and stole her purse. When she finally arrived at her boyfriend's house, the two hopped in a car in the hopes of finding the thief.

Unfortunately, a 17-year-old boy from Waterbury was at the wrong place at the wrong time, because the woman mistakenly thought he was the thief who had snatched her purse. The couple then proceeded to strike the teen with the car, and the girl's boyfriend, Danny Torres, jumped out holding a baseball bat and supposedly threatened to kill the boy.

Once police arrived they concluded that the boy was in fact not the purse snatcher and Danny was arrested on assault charges.
