When we interviewed The Downtown Fiction earlier this month, we didn't know how much they loved Justin Timberlake, but now we do. Today, which is also JT's birthday, we found a new YouTube video from the guys in which they get an in-studio visit from the 'Social Network' star...well, sort of.
The short clip shows lead singer Cameron Leahy with The Downtown Fiction's producer, Adam Richman, going over some beats in the studio. As the frontman told us before, the band is currently working on their debut full-length album in New York City.
Suddenly, "Justin Timberlake" appears at the door with some advice. "Are you The Downtown Fiction?" asks the 'Social Network' star. "Yeah, yeah, yeah ... Drop the 'the.' It's cleaner."
Okay, so Justin isn't really in the video, but Cameron does a pretty good impression of him as Sean Parker from the Oscar-nominated film. As you may recall, the line is pulled right from the scene in the movie when Mark Zuckerberg seeks advice from his mentor about his budding company.
Some fans have commented on the video, worried that the three-piece is going to change their name. Well, we spoke with the band's label, Photo Finish Records, and are here to confirm they are not. The band just wanted to post something fun for their fans while they're in the studio.
Check out the full video below. What do you think of Cameron's dual performance? Do you think he has acting chops?
