As we told you earlier this week, 'Angry Birds Rio' is coming to your app store and the big screen soon, and now the franchise is using the Super Bowl to get gamers psyched on the new releases.
According to Ad Age, 20th Century Fox and Rovio will air a 30-second commerical spot for the animated film, 'Rio,' on Sunday. It will feature a special code that allows Angry Birds fans to unlock a special level in the mobile game.
But that's not all. Those who complete the secret level will be entered into a 'Rio' sweepstakes to win a trip to the premiere of the film in Rio de Janiero, Brazil on March 22. Remember, Blu travels to the city to find his female counterpart Jewel, hence the movie name and location of the world premiere.
The commercial is set to air during the fourth quarter of the game, and viewers will need to watch frame by frame to catch the embedded code. But if you miss it on TV, don't worry. It will be available on YouTube after the Super Bowl.
Are you psyched about the secret level and unlock code? It's kind of neat how they're presenting it, right? Angry Birds lovers, let us know your thoughts in the comments.
