Justin Bieber may be on top of the pop world, but it looks like he'll have to wait a little longer to score that Grammy statue. Last night, the 16-year-old singer lost in both the Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album categories, which he admitted was a disappointment.

"As for the awards...of course I wanted to win," Justin tweeted. "It's been & still is a dream to win a grammy. Was I upset...yes. But I was happy for her also."
The "her" Justin is referring to is jazz musician Esperanza Spalding, who surprised most by winning the Best New Artist Grammy. However, while some fans went to extreme measures to show their anger about JB's loss, other Beliebers rallied behind their favorite star by posting messages of support.

Among his many fans, celebrities like Kanye West used Twitter to back the Bieb. "I can't find the words to explain how I feel about the best new artist award...Don't wanna say the wrong thing," the rapper wrote before adding, "#PROUDOFJUSTIN."

"I'm so disappointed," JSYK reader Chantal Strowbridge tweeted. "I thought Justin was going to win, but I guess it's amazing just to be nominated."

"CRAZY!" Belieber Mikaela Hurd added. "I was positive that Bieber had this one!!!!"

JSYK reader Terri Riot also tweeted to us with her positive perspective, saying "He has his whole life ahead of him to win a Grammy." We couldn't agree more.

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards were full of surprises beyond Bieber's loss -- Lady Gaga was "hatched" out of an egg during her performance of 'Born This Way'; Selena Gomez was teased on stage about Justin while presenting an award; and indie rockers Arcade Fire took home Album of the Year for 'The Suburbs.'
