Hailee Steinfeld and Elle Fanning Become Fast Friends; Are They Right For Katniss and Prim?

Hailee Steinfeld and Elle Fanning became fast friends on their recent Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue photo shoot. How do we know? The magazine has posted a new behind-the-scenes video, and we got to speak with director Brian Quist all about it.
"The girls had an honesty about them that was incredibly refreshing," he tells JSYK. "Each seemed perfectly comfortable in that middle ground between youth and stardom. Hailee started off the shoot a bit nervous, but Elle loosened her up, and before long they were intertwined like best friends."
We think Hailee and Elle's chemisty is particularly interesting since both actresses are rumored to star in the new movie adaptation of 'The Hunger Games.' The buzz is that Hailee would play Katniss, and Elle will play her sister, Primrose, but the girls didn't admit to anything on the set.
Vanity Fair's Hollywood Issue highlights today's hottest stars, and because Hailee and Elle were named "The Old Souls" in the mag, they were shot together. The video shows the new friends acting playful having fun, even when things didn't go as planned.
"At one point, they were trying to intertwine the girl's brown and blonde hair, and for a moment they were stuck together," Brian adds. "It didn't take long to untangle them, and both girls laughed through it."
