As if clothing stores, perfume and branded Silly Bandz bracelets weren't enough, Kim Kardashian is now branching out into the music world. The reality TV star premiered her debut single, 'Jam,' today on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, but will fans think it's cool or cringe-worthy?
Kim first unveiled the song at a Las Vegas club in January, but when she appeared on Ryan's show this morning, she admitted that she was super nervous about playing it for the world.
"I think it's only normal for me to be nervous," she said. 'I'm human. I've never sang before. This was definitely something that I don't do, so for me to step outside of my comfort zone and do this and to world premiere it on KIIS-FM with Ellen and Ryan Seacrest ... This is a really big deal."
The song is a classic club banger, produced by The-Dream. Kim sings of going out, sailing to the front of the line and dancing the night away with her friends. With heavy Auto-Tune, the star repeats the phrase "They playing my jam" over and over throughout the chorus.
But whether you love the song or not, you can't hate Kim's reasons for recording it. In an interview with MTV, Kim said that all proceeds from the sale of the single will be donated to charity. "[The-Dream and I] just had a good time, and the proceeds are going to a cancer organization [because we both] lost a parent to cancer," she said. "So it's just fun."
