For Maria Aragon, dreams really do come true. Just two weeks after the 10-year-old girl posted a video of herself performing Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' on YouTube, the Grammy-winning diva invited the young Internet star to perform with her on stage in front of thousands in Toronto, Ontario.
During her concert at the Air Canada Centre on March 3, Gaga sat with Maria at a piano and addressed the audience by saying, "Maria represents what this song is all about. It's all about the next generation and the future."
The two sang a duet of 'Born This Way,' sharing vocal and piano duties. Maria anchored the song, singing the original melodies, while Gaga showed off her range with additional vocal embellishments.
When Gaga first saw Maria's video last month, she tweeted it to her fans, saying, "Can't stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future."
Since then, the pop star posted a photo of herself with Maria hanging out backstage. The fast friends were wearing T-shirts that had each other's faces on it. "Myself +10 year Old Lady Maria of Winnipeg," Gaga wrote. "She signed my t-shirt, she ate my heart, just like you."
