We are really shaking our heads about this. A Brooklyn, N.Y. high school student told police that she poured acid on her classmate's head in an effort to burn her eyes out, reports the New York Post.

According to the police, Zhanna Smsarian, 16, and Albina Eshimbaeva, 15, were in chemistry class together at Fort Hamilton High School on Wednesday morning. Zhanna, who sat behind Albina, allegedly grabbed a bottle of diluted hydrochloric acid and poured it all over the victim's head.

The acid then dripped into Albina's face and eyes, but the teacher immediately flushed her student's eyes with water and rushed her to Staten Island Hospital's burn unit. The move, hospital workers said, saved Albina from becoming blind.
Students at the school said there was a history of bad blood between the two girls. Both were members of the Junior ROTC Tiger Battallion.

Zhanna was arrested and charged with attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon, possession of noxious material and harassment. Bail was set at $7,500 bond and an order of protection was issued prohibiting Zhanna from having any contact with the victim.

What do you think about what happened? Should Zhanna go to jail? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
