Lady Gaga and Katy Perry Encourage Fans to Donate to Japan Disaster Relief

After the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, stars like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are encouraging fans to donate money to help the disaster victims by offering special items for sale online and at their concerts.

Gaga has created a white and red "We Pray For Japan" bracelet that fans can buy for $5, and add an additional donation, at her official online store. The pop star tweeted, "I Designed a Japan Prayer Bracelet...ALL proceeds will go to Tsunami Relief Efforts."

Katy Perry also used Twitter to urge fans to donate, writing, "Imagine... if we ALL texted REDCROSS to 90999 we'd have raised over 60million dollars for #JAPAN REFLIEF! BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE! BE!"

In addition, the singer decided to donate sales of her tour wands to help the people of Japan. "HEY #HAMBURG!" she said. "TONIGHT if u go by the merchandise stand, purchase a KP light up wand ALL proceeds will go 2 #JAPANREDCROSS & when I play..."

Stars such as Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift tweeted their prayers and condolences to the people of Japan last week. The rock community has also joined the charitable effort, creating Music For Japan, a Tumblr page that includes
