Do You 'Like' Companies on Facebook?

Facebook was once a place to "keep up with friends and family," but now almost every major company has a page on the site. However, a new study says that teens aren't giving many corporations their "likes."

According to Brandweek, the report from Forrester Research found that only 6 percent of 12- to 17-year-olds who use Facebook want to friend a brand on the social networking site. In fact, almost half of the same group of teens said they don't think brands should have profiles at all.
However, when 74 percent of people ages 12 to 17 use social networks to talk about entertainment and products with their friends, companies are itching to get into the action. Many brands offer special Facebook-exclusive discounts and contests on their pages, but require a "like" to access them.

Do you follow any companies on the social networking site? If so, which ones do you like? Maybe you think it's lame to add brands to your profile. Let us know what you think in the comments. %Poll-61681%
