Selena Gomez Opens Up About Relationship With Justin Bieber
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have been photographed in the Caribbean and snapped while shopping in Santa Monica, Calif., but the two have remained rather quiet about their relationship (except for that one tweet). Now, the 'Who Says' singer is opening up about her connection to the Canadian pop star, and admitting that she can kind of relate to all her "haters."
In an interview with Z100, Selena says it's difficult dealing with the negative comments from hardcore Beliebers. "It's hard," said. "It hurts, it really does. I don't feel like I'm doing anything wrong. I've been best friends with him for a very long time. It does hurt my feelings a lot, but I try not to focus on it. I have a such a strong family and great fans."
When photos of Selena and Justin first hit the Web, fans were split about the new relationship. Some were supportive, while others went as far as sending the Disney star death threats. Still, Selena says she understands where the angry Beliebers are coming from.
"I will say that I agree with them sometimes," she said. "I loved Jesse McCartney. I was obsessed with him. He dated Katie Cassidy when he was 16 or 17. I hated her -- absolutely hated her. I was mortified that he was with Katie and I wanted to be with him. He was my screen saver!"
But when Selena was shooting her upcoming movie 'Monte Carlo' with the 'Gossip Girl' actress, she realized that Katie wasn't worth hating. "I just did a movie ['Monte Carlo'] with Katie Cassidy, and she was the nicest person ever." %Poll-58124%
