'Rio' Soundtrack Won't Just Be For the Birds
Angry Birds is taking over movie theaters nationwide with the release of 'Rio' next month, and, naturally, it's going to have an awesome soundtrack. Not only do the film's stars Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway, will.i.am. and Jamie Foxx sing on the 13-track album, but it also features a new track by Taio Cruz.
'Rio' takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, so it's no wonder why the soundtrack incorporates a vibrant Latin feel. The ensemble number 'Real in Rio' kicks things off with tons of energy, and while Anne's fans have likely heard the actress sing before, Jesse's voice is a pleasant surprise.
Other gems on the record include Jamie and will.i.am's duet 'Hot Wings (I Wanna Party),' an upbeat dance number, and Taio's love song 'Telling the World.' The British singer slows things down a bit with this track, but it's worth it. We can totally see the song becoming a hit single for the R&B star.
'Rio' follows the story of Blu, a domesticated Macaw who never learned how to fly. Blue travels to Brazil to find his counterpart, Jewel, and finally comes to a crossroad where he needs to reach inside to find the strength he always had.
The 3-D animated film will open in theaters on April 15, and the soundtrack will be available for download on March 29. Check out 'Hot Wings' below, and take a peek at a clip from the movie here.
