We all have been told to not do drugs like our entire lives right? Well, apparently some people aren't listening.

A new federal study has shown that more teens are using a very dangerous, man-made drug called ecstasy. The study was conducted after more and more teens began getting admitted to emergency rooms due to complications after taking the deadly drug.

Over 17,000 young adults and teens actually visited the E.R. due to ecstasy complications in just one year.Hospital emergency department visits involving ecstasy increased from 10,222 in 2004 to 17,865 in 2008, a 74.8% increase. Crazy right?
The drug is called "ecstasy" because it gives you a sense of ecstasy or extreme happiness whenever you take it. The pill is also man made which means that any random person can cook it up and sell it to you, which is super scary because you have no clue what they put in it. Actually, do you know what can be used to make ecstasy? It's been said that some people make "Ex" with heroin, rat poison, and embalming liquid (aka what they put into dead bodies!) Gross right?! All of these ingredients can cause death if ingested. Along with death, the "club drug" has several side effects like anxiety attacks, hypertension, hypothermia and rapid heart beat.

No drug is a good drug to take but ecstasy is probably one of the worst ones you could try. There have been many reports of teens dying after experiencing the drug only one time.

This study is quite alarming and a very scary reality. Is ecstasy something that you or your friends have been exposed too?
