Cara Salimando Proves She's One to Watch in New 'Cigarette Smoke' Video
You may not know who Cara Salimando is, but there are plenty of reasons why you should. First and foremost, the 19-year-old has a hauntingly beautiful voice, which is showcased on her latest single, 'Cigarette Smoke.'
At 17, the New Jersey native signed a recording contract with Universal Motown Records, and worked with the same songwriters and producers who helped Rihanna get her start. She has also been compared to the likes of Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple and Ingrid Michaelson. No big deal.
Cara released her first EP, 'Dust,' in March 2010, which features her latest single. "I pretty much wrote 'Cigarette Smoke' in the shower," she said. "Maybe it's because I have so much time to think in there. I have no idea."
Cara is set to release her debut full-length album soon, but for now, she's just excited to show her fans her brand-new video. Watch 'Cigarette Smoke' below and score the 'Dust' EP on iTunes now.
