Texting has become a major form of communication for everything from casual conversation to asking important questions. But while you and your friends may be on your phone all the time, would you consider asking someone to prom via text?
In a recent survey, textPlus asked 1,155 teens this question and 40 percent said yes. Beyond that, 66 percent said they would accept the invitation to the big event, if they were asked by text.
We're not too surprised by the survey's findings. After all, 75 percent of those between ages 12 and 17 have cell phones, and the average teen sends 50 texts a day.
However, some may not think it's very polite, and if you're planning on asking your crush, it might not be the most romantic move.
If you want to ask someone to prom via text here are some tips: Make sure you send a personalized message. Can you imagine if she or he thought you sent a mass text?
You can get creative by texting a photo, or sending a cute poem. Also, if you don't hear back right away, you should definitely follow-up with a phone call.
