Poketo Unveils Upcycled Collection Just in Time for Earth Day
Poketo, the art-inspired lifestyle company that we love, has launched a new line of upcycled accessories just in time for Earth Day. The collection includes leather goods that have been created out of vintage furniture.
"Upcycled" isn't a typo. It's a term used to describe reusing material without degrading its quality or composition for its next use. So, in Poketo's case, they took old sofas that were about to be thrown away and stripped them of their leather. Then, they were able to turn them into beautiful accessories like these colorful passport cases.
Leather takes about 50 years to decompose, so not only has the brand created fun pouches, wallets, clutches and card cases for you to enjoy, they're also doing their part to save the environment, too. Oh, and the best part? No two pieces are alike.
In 2010, Poketo released a line of upcycled bags made from street banners, vintage clothing and couches. It was so well-received that they decided to do another upcycled line this year.
The new leather accessories start at $32. You can check out the entire collection, as well as other non-leather upcycled goods at Poketo.com.
