Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift Win Big at 2011 Billboard Music Awards
Justin Bieber took home six trophies at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, while country sensation Taylor Swift earned three. On Sunday's live televised event, the 17-year-old tied Eminem with the most wins of the night.
Justin, who was this year's youngest nominee, scored golden statues for Top New Artist, Top Social Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top Digital Media Artist, Top Pop Album and Top Streaming Song (video) at his first time at the awards show.
Justin sat with Selena Gomez and his mom, kissing his girlfriend not once, but twice on camera. When he was called up to the stage the first time, he gave Selena a quick peck on the forehead. Then he locked lips with the 'Who Says' singer when he went up to accept his Top New Artist award.
Taylor kicked off the awards portion of the evening with her win for Billboard 200 Album Artist of the Year, and graced the stage again for winning Top Country Artist. Off camera, she scored another trophy for Top Country Album for 'Speak Now.'
While we didn't get to see the 21-year-old singer perform, Taylor did introduce Nicki Minaj to the stage before her performance of 'Super Bass.' As you know by her impromptu cover of the song, the single is one of Taylor's favorites.
Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Usher, Taio Cruz and Mumford and Sons were among the other top winners of the night, each racking up three awards. Our favorite moments from the evening include Beyonce's jaw-dropping performance of 'Run the World (Girls)' and Britney Spears' two on-stage appearances -- the first with Rihanna and the second with Nicki.
