Although Darren Criss was recently promoted to a series regular on 'Glee,' he's lining up his outside projects. Now, the California native has reportedly landed in his first big-screen role opposite 'Saturday Night Live' star Kristen Wiig in her new film, 'Imogene.'

According to Vulture, producer Celine Rattray said that Darren will play "a younger love interest" of Kristen's character in the film. Although the 24-year-old has lit up the small screen, and will be hitting Broadway next year, this will be the first time Gleek's get to see the actor in a major motion picture.
In the film, Kristen plays a woman who fakes a suicide attempt in order to get an old boyfriend back. Of course, the plan backfires and she is sent to live with her crazy mother, who has a gambling addiction.

There aren't many details about the upcoming movie, but fans will have to wait quite some time before it comes out. 'Imogen' is expected in theaters in 2013. Until then, however, you can catch Darren on the new season of 'Glee,' which premieres on Tuesday, September 20 at 8 p.m. %Poll-67188%
