There's been a ton of buzz around 'The Carrie Diaries,' and now it looks like the project is headed to the CW as a TV series aimed toward teens.

The young adult series was written by 'Sex and the City' author Candace Bushnell, and follows Carrie Bradshaw in her senior year of high school. It will be produced by the same people behind 'Gossip Girl,' confirms Deadline.
Recently, many speculated about who would play young Carrie, Samantha Jones, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes, but while Blake Lively, Selena Gomez, Emma Roberts and Elizabeth Olsen were all thrown into the mix, that seems unlikely now that the project is set to be a TV series.

Are you excited for 'The Carrie Diaries'? Who do you think should play the title role? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
