Alex DeLeon and Alex Marshall of The Cab joined us in-studio Wednesday for an interview and acoustic performance of two songs from their new album 'Symphony Solider.' They performed 'Angel with a Shot Gun,' for what lead singer DeLeon said was the first time live ever, and their current single, 'Bad.' They even performed, 'Bounce,' a song off of their first album, behind-the-scenes exclusively for the Cambio crew. The guys were really cool and relaxed, as they played around with a soccer ball and on our mini-golf green prior to their in-studio performance.
After they recorded their interview and played a few songs, Cambio News talked with Alex and Alex about the new album and what the support of their fans means to them.
"We've gone through so much. We left our label, we switched management and there were a lot of ups and downs in relationships," DeLeon said, "The album is called 'Symphony Solider' because we are fighting for what we believe in. It is about fighting for what you believe in and what you care about."
While DeLeon said his two favorite songs on 'Symphony Soldier' are 'Endlessly' and 'Your Love is My Religion,' Marshall said, to Deleon's surprise, his are 'Another Me' and 'Lovesick Fool.'
DeLeon said the fan response to the new album has been insane. "We kind of disappeared for a year, but the fans are still there and strong." Marshall added, "Our fans are our heart and soul."
The band is currently getting ready for their fall tour supporting Simple Plan. They also hope to keep branching out. "We want to expand and get out with names like Bruno Mars, One Republic and Maroon 5," DeLeon said, "Our main goal is to get our music to as many ears as possible."
