George Clooney and Ryan Gosling's highly-anticipated political drama 'The Ides of March' premiered at second place with takings of $10.4 million, while last week's box office winner 'Dolphin Tale' fell to third place after grossing $9.2 million.

Rounding out the top five were Brad Pitt's baseball movie 'Moneyball' ($7.5 million) and cancer comedy '50/5'0 ($5.5 million) at fourth and fifth place respectively.
