Demi Lovato to Perform National Anthem at Game 5 of the World Series
The good news just keeps on coming for Demi Lovato. While enjoying the success of her latest album, 'Unbroken,' the 19-year-old has been asked to perform the national anthem at Game 5 of the World Series on Monday, October 24.
"Only my lovatics could land me a spot singing the national anthem at the WORLD SERIES!!!!" Demi tweeted on Friday. "I couldn't do it without you guys!!!!"
Baseball fans know that the 2011 championship match-up is between the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals, who are tied 1-1 in the seven-game series. The pop star scored the honor after her big sister, Dallas, tweeted that Demi should sing 'The Star-Spangled Banner' during the MLB showdown. She relentlessly petitioned to make it happen, and it did!
Demi joins the likes of 'American Idol' winner Scotty McCreery, Trace Adkins and Zooey Deschanel and Ronnie Dunn, who have all been asked to sing the song during this year's World Series. Game 3 airs tomorrow on Fox.
