Each judge had the task of eliminating one contestant from their group, with the exception of Simon Cowell who had to eliminate two of his girls since he brought back Melanie Amaro last minute.
Simon, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, and LA Reid mentored each of their contestants by picking out their song and even helping with choreography. Paula's work with the groups earned her praise from the other judges, including Simon who hated to admit how well she did. However, most of the bickering during the night was not between Paula and Simon, as one might think, but between Nicole and Simon. We can't wait to see what happens between these two as the competition progresses.
Starting next week, the 12 final acts (listed below) will be competing for your votes to stay alive on the show. "The X Factor" really wants the your opinion so they're giving you not one, not two, but 6 ways to vote. For the first time, you can vote via Twitter, Verizon phones, toll-free calling, text messaging, online at TheXFactorUSA.com and at Facebook.com/TheXFactorUSA.
We have to say the girls are the ones to beat in this competition, as well as a few of the groups and boys. We can't wait to see what's next from each contestant.
Which contestant has your votes? Are you happy with the Top 12?
