Liam Hemsworth's upcoming film, 'The Hunger Games,' is still four months from being released, but he's already in high demand. The Australian actor is reportedly auditioning for the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyers' 'The Host.'

According to Moviefone, Liam is in the running to play Jared, the boyfriend of Melanie, whose body has been taken over by an alien named Wanderer. Saoirse Ronan has been cast as the lead character, and will also play Melanie's alien invader.

Liam is reportedly testing for the film now, but Kit Harrington, Jai Courtney and Max Irons are also contenders for the gig. The 21-year-old has some stiff competition, but with acting credits like 'The Hunger Games' and 'The Last Song' under his belt, he may just be poised to nab the coveted role.

Liam will hit the big screen as District 12 hunter Gale, when the 'The Hunger Games' arrives on March 23. If all goes well, fans of the star may also get to see him in the 'The Host' when it opens in theaters nationwide nearly one year later on March 29, 2013.
